Yep, right off my reloading bench. I can even make my 375 H&H magnum affordable to shoot.

sooo... south african dried up? I think I saw a 140 round battlepack for $50 at duncans in san marcos. As a matter of fact I think SA will be around for awhile at jacked up retail, but not pallet loads for $24-$27 anymore.

I just bought a case of nine battlepacks of SA for a decent price here in SoCal. From what I hear SA is on the decline and those who have it are raising there prices. From what I've seen SA battlepacks are starting to sell for 50 dollars a pack of 140 rounds.

The other day widener's had the extremely innacurate and unreliable PAKI surplus (this is pretty much the worst non-corrosive .308 you can get) in stock at the same price SA was going for 6 months ago.

...............It sold out in one day.

            Also:
Don't be tempted to buy wolf in .308, that stuff is crap and it is also dangerous.

Actually the Widener website was inaccurate. They still have over 11k twenty round boxes left of the paki 308. According to the website they have tried 100 rounds of the paki 308 in three different rifles with the best results of 2 to 3 inch groups. Buy a small amount and see how it works, you never know it might be worth the 220 dollars a 1k.

                Hmm,
That doesn't sound bad. Maybe I'll give them a call tomorrow and order some up. I could be wrong about the ammo, people poo-pooed the hell out of the indian stuff when it came out and after shooting near 4k of that stuff, I love it.

                Thanks!

I got 8 packs of South African Surplus at the local range. About 33 bucks a pack. Best deal around.

HAHA, I was kind of happy Indian ammo got a bad rap. When in reality, it were certain lots that were bad. If you knew which to buy, than your good to go! That bad rap kept the price down on even the good indian ammo.

Ive shot both SA and Indian in repetition to one another, I cant tell the differance.

You should probably buy reload tools if you're going for .308

It'll end up costing you 1/10th of what you were paying for.

Seriously, your M14 deserves better ammo than Indian and South African surplus.

Mind if I ask your load?
I'm loading 2 different that I'm still working the bugs out of:
40 gr Win 748 w/ sierra 150 gr spbt (748 meters really well, it being a ball powder - I hate that crunch from the meter when using stick)
and the same with 40 gr IMR 4895.

Strangley enough it runs fine in my STG but won't clear the belt in my 1919, I haven't been able to figure the prob.
