Shooting range's/area's in or near Sacramento?

I'm going to be in and around Sacramento during Christmas. Can anyone recommend places to shoot.
I prefer outdoors, but indoors will work.

    Thanks for your help

In Sac proper, there is little, but there is one down in South Sac a bit behind River City Guns. Forget the name. 5 round mag limit. Mostly set up for rimfire bull's eye stuff. They don't care for center fire there.

Cordova guns in Rancho Cordova is out doors pistol and rifle. Rifle is 25 and 100 yards fixed. Pistol is 15 yards fixed. No holsters, no rapid fire, no standing at rifle, no prone at rifle.

Down the road a ways is Sac Valley Shooting center. Never been, but they tell me it is nice.

Down in Elk Grove is the Gun Room. Indoor pistol and rimfire rifle. No holster or rapid fire unless giving permit by RO. Great facility. I shoot there mostly.

The next closest one that I know if is up in Lincon, but that is getting a bit far.

YOLO is south of Sac off of 505. They have a 7 and 25 pistol/rifle, a 50 rifle and a 100 rifle all covered, slow fire, no rapid or double tap. Also have Trap/Skeet, Archery and a smal fishing pond.

Pretty cheap, around $7 bucks for non-members IIRC

Sac Valley Shooting Center is a great range. Outdoors and plenty of ranges for whatever you may be shooting.

Lincoln Rifle Club is also a nice range.

I've been to The Gun Room, but have never shot there. I went to have a look around. It looked like a nice place to shoot. Clean and has a well stocked gun shop attached to it.

Sac Valley is a drive but the best range, plus they banned the DOJ from shooting there.

Some people here talk crap about this place because it is not as nice as Sac Valley (never been to SV). But it works for what it is.

What kind of firearms will you bring / have available to you, and what kind of shooting do you want to do?

I'd highly recommend the Yolo Sportsmans' Assoc. It's an excellent outdoor site and reasonable prices!
