Is the original m&p shield 9mm legal to purchase from out of state?

Question for you guys, is the original m&p shield 9mm legal to purchase from out of state? They don't have a magazine safety or loaded chamber indicator. But on the roster I think.

Any issue with interchanging parts with recent shields?

      Sense the answer is no?

Though not sure how to tie the SKU to an old used pistol.

The CA approved model (safety, CLI, and mag disconnect) is the only one a CA FFL will transfer to you if shipped from out of state or bought new.

If what you proposed could be done, no one would buy the CA version.

You can get a off-roster version (no safety, CLI or mag disconnect) if you’re willing to pay a little more (worth it IMO).

Shipped from out of state, No. Purchased from someone local to you, Yes.

Remember the roster isn't about new or used, it's what a dealer can sell or transfer to you through a dealer transfer.

The CA roster Shield has always had LCI and mag safety. Since day one.

Why do you think it's worth it?

Here’s a conceal carry thread that may be helpful.

Ease of concealment, accurate, and prefer no manual safety and mag disconnect on my carry pistols.

M&P shield with no mag discconnect and safety is sexy, but irs not worth paying the premium, just train with what you have and know its the operator that functions the tool, not the safety or non safety.

magazine disconnect is super easy to remove, just watch youtube video, loaded chamber indicator requires a new part to not have one pop up

The premium isn’t much and in this current state of events, some of the off roster models cost less than some of the CA versions (as seen in the MP).

Do note that some IAs do not allow modifications on CCW pistols.

In the end, depends on what one is willing to pay and carry. For me, I prefer having something without silly-nanny safety features mandated by the roster.

Some do not allow any internal changes. Nothing other than stock triggers.

Most will allow grip and sight changes only.

OCSD for some time did not allow internal changes or even cerakote on guns.
