        If private venues offer up, and/or those promoters of shows could reach out to private venues, to secure contracts to hold gun shows at the same, no different than shows traditionally held on government owned properties, there is nothing the city/county/state could do to stop it unless there were a permitting issue, whereby judging by what is involved, would not be an obstacle.

        And I highly doubt that is going to be an issue in the more conservative cities and counties where most gun shows are held anyway.

        If the promoters really want to have gun shows, and I mean PROFITABLE gun shows, not just in it for the ongoing passive collection of the usual money stream they been sucking in, while serving up the same, old, tired and lackluster everything-but-guns show these past 20 years, they'll make it happen.

        My impression is, and has been, they don't really care how lousy their shows are - just sign here, here's your spot, pay-up - be sure to be out by 5:00, as we have the Quilt and Tapestry show coming in next.

          The other problem is greedy gun show operators charging $150 for a table. That closes out the mom and pop table where you used to be able to pick up excess stuff that they just want to get rid of.

          Something you can do is to get a gun shop owner or gun club to allow you to hold a flea market in their parking lot. Sort of like what the car guys do.

            Fresno does a swap meet type situation at a range once a year where people can sell guns a FFL is there to process the transactions. It would be very simple to do and only charge like $25 bucks to sell.

              OP don’t you have any Costco’s down there in Sandy Eggo land where you can buy beef jerky? That’s about what gun shows have become. If not, your only a hour drive or so to OC. Come up to OC and get screwed at Crossroads show.

                I LOVE gun shows, 40 year tradition of going since the late great Pomona show.

                always find bargains, great atmosphere, fun day trip. my go to show has become the Ventura show...next one is October!
                TURNING and turning in the widening gyre
                The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
                Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
                Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
                The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
                The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
                The best lack all conviction, while the worst
                Are full of passionate intensity.
