What Would You Do

For those of you who do not know me, I'm a VERY old Calguns member.
I have an old thread from my process of becoming an FFL somewhere here. Like in the archives...

Anyway, I'm no longer in the gun business and have ALOT of stuff sitting around from being in business.
I still like guns and would like to shoot but have not fired any firearms since leaving the business. It been a few years now. I have a two part question... i guess I'm trying to justify my internal thoughts..

I have in my safe the components to build a kickass rifle.
I have the following;
Stiller Tac 30 Receiver
Rock Creek Cut Rifled 6.5 barrel blank.... LONG this is over 24
Jewel Trigger
XLR Folding Rifle Chassis
Night Force 5.5x22

I don't have a muzzle end device I like for it and I don't have scope rings. The receiver came with a base that's setup for reaching out I forget the details.

So, would you get this built?? I mean, I have not touched a live trigger in over 3 years.
Or, would you sell it as a package and let it go.

I have a .308 VLS in a custom stock I shoot WAY sub MOA with already.. and I have a rock creek barrel for that too. I have figured out a specific load that works very very well that will not fit in any of these custom .306 I see. I lent some to a friend w/ a GA precision and he couldn't close the bolt.

Would you re- barrel a great shooting rifle to get a way better barrel and get a shorter throat?

Well if you don’t have the ambition to go shoot now, do you think the build will restart it? Or at the very least, get you out there to shoot it? If you do build it, you could then sell it, potentially for more than the parts themselves.

Since this is calguns, and I shoot weekly, I would urge you to get back out there. Not only for the fun of the sport. But to keep your excellent shooting skills top notch. Keep us up to date on whatever you decide. Ultimately, I think you should get back out there. If you ever come to Shasta county, I’d like to join ya!

BigMac, you might want to post this in the Centerfire Rifles-Manually Operated CG sub-forum to get some specific info about the builds. Pics, if you have them will helpful.

Some things are just supposed to happen, you have the parts, go for it.
