Very pricey. No close friends to put gun safe with only you having access.

I used the search button and skimmed around 5 old threads.

Phil no longer offers that service.
For long term storage in CA, legally, you will need to contract that service from a CA FFL dealer.

      Under CA laws...

A non-prohibited CA resident, that is not a CA FFL dealer, can legally store firearms kept under specific conditions for a duration that will not exceed 120 days. [PC 27883]
^If the duration is for more than 120 days, then the firearms must be transferred to the person storing the firearms through a CA FFL dealer. [PC 27545]

a bit risky, which I don't like how about a safe in a storage unit? i know storage units where you fill and they will store, its not legal, but maybe you can take apart? its a answer and a question?

Jorgi does suggest an interesting "intermediate" solution, through partial disassembly of your firearms.

The receivers alone take up less room than complete firearms, particularly for rifles. Might you be able to store the components in California, and take just the receivers with you?

Alternatively it seems you'll need to either contract with an FFL, else find a trusted party to whom you can transfer the firearms via FFL.

If a friend will let you store a safe- draw up a lease
If you are more comfortable grab a simple lease off of the internet.
$20/ year to rent space in their house.
                Set up your safe
Now you are legally a roommate and your property is in a safe and only you have the code/ combo/ key to open.

                Easy peasy

Drive to vegas and store up there in safe in storage. Ca can pound sand. Research it and see if viable option.

Where are you located? How much do you expect that to cost? It can get expensive.

I don't know where you are or if this is an option but they do provide gun storage. Their price sheet says 20 guns = $250/month...plus some expenses.

Pawn what you can for a loan, ask for the very least they will give you for each firearm. The bigger the loan for each gun, the higher the interest for each. Save that money to pay interest or use towards paying back the loan. Some pawn shops will do up to 4 months at a time just be prepared to cover the interest and be on time...this can go on for years if all you do is pay the interest. You can recover one gun or more at the same time but will have to DROS them back to yourself and wait the ten days. Rifles you can DROS all at one time, pistols I believe will be on a separate DROS each, but you might want to check with various pawn shops.

You create the trust, the trust owns the guns. You can put other folks on the trust. That way there's no transfer BS. I'd do it even if whoever I left it with had no access. Also, if you die your heirs have considerably less bs to deal with.
