    Muzzleloader Scope

I didn't get any responses in the Optics section of this thread so I'm dropping the question here http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1744032
Short story, looking for a scope for a ML that won't break the bank as it will be a range toy.

Looking at Athlon, Hawke, Simmons, Bushnell, Nikon, etc, in the $100-$150 range.

I have an Athlon scope on another rifle that is very good but I'll take other recommndations.

In 2017 I drew a bull elk muzzle loader tag in the coveted unit 15 New Mexico.
It is legal there to use a scope. I've been building and shooting muzzle loaders since I was 16 and this was first time with optics. I went with an affordable Vortex and have it quite reliable out to 300yd. You don't need anything real high end, just aim a solid dependible brand / model. Unless your getting into a match shooting class of comp that allows optics keep it simple. Mark
Oh no, not another 1911 !

I used my Knight to take a 6x6 bull near Magdalena, NM a few years ago. I have a scope on it, but I had purchased a Nikon Omega to put on it but never did as the existing scope worked pretty well. The Nikon BDC is set up for a 250 gr sabot load with, I believe, 150gr of powder but it will work with any load - you have to verify it anyway with your particular load.
