Should be, the area just north of Dillon road/highway is not located within any California National Park. Yeah, "California National Park" sounds weird but that's how the restricted areas are titled (access restrictions due to wildland fires) and for the next few weeks.
I've never been there during any weekend, though. I only go there during weekday mornings with a buddy that lives in Palm Desert..
