    CETME 3

A few questions. I saw what I would consider a great price on a 308 CETME. Now I have never shot a CETME or a true G3. I don't have enought time to do any homework or research, because I might miss out on the sale. So I thought I get a little consumer report from true owners.

Who out there owns G3 clones or CETME3's. How reliable are they, any major issues known to anyone. Now I know that HK makes really amazing top quality stuff. I don't intend go into battle with this riffle or consider it my baby on top of my other 15 riffles. But Just another gun to add my to my Call of Duty 4 collection. Just a nice water melon destroyer. I don't entend to add fancy optics or plan on long range sniping either.

    thanks

I don't know what the CETME 3 is, but if it's similar to the CETME, the rifle is reliable and has the HK roller block system. I know you are aware that the Roos-Roberti list includes the CETME "sport" rifle, so don't buy that one because it's banned. I have a FMP G3 in olive green that was made in Portugal with HK tooling and it's almost identical to the HK model, just a few hundred dollars cheaper. If you reload the brass for this rifle, you'll find that the brass get's beat up a bit by the rifle. As for accuracy, the G3 doesn't match current AR based rifles in accuracy, in that you'll hit your opponent out to 200 meters with no problems, but you won't be making too many head shots. At least I can't.

Oops i meant CETME / G3. Ok thanks yeah the one I am looking at is from Century Arms. It's got CA configurations according to the site. But I just didn't know if they where great riffles or not. I have built 5 AR's so I now know what is generic or quality stuff, after 3 years of playing around with them. I am currently building my first Ak. So I still haven't sat down and research G3's vs Clones. Thank for taking your time.
