Get your new parts in hand and then make an appointment to come over to my place.

Manual machining is already dead

Not in my shop.
I'm so old school that I still use a pantograph engraver.

The amount of people that call themselves gunsmiths is laughable. Most are parts replacers at most and I'd never trust most of them with anything more complicated than say an AR build or a ceracote job or stippling all services I have no need for.

Their are definitely some around still. I used them for 15 years up until a career change just a few years ago. But nobody is learning manuals anymore, unless they get into a shop that still uses one in the back corner. Technological advances in 5 axis mills and lathes is crazy. But few trades, such as gunsmithing, are the only ones still using the manuals.

Check out Armstrong Arms in Laguna Hills. I haven't been in a while so I don't know how busy he is, but he's really good.
