    Advice on fixing these Heirlooms.

I recieved two heirlooms from my stepdad. One is a sporterized vz24 and the other is a remington sportsman 48. Both have damage to the wood stock, as shown in the pictures.

I'd like to fix both of them so that they are shootable/huntable without incurring any more damage. I looked at some videos of stock repairs, depending on the damage its seems like a DIY job or a gunsmith job. I was looking for advice on how to fix these.

Additionally, I'm not sure what caliber the vz24 is in, I know it was made in a variety of calibers. It came with a box of 7mm remington magnum, which is not any of the original chamberings (to my knowledge), my stepdad claims those are for the rifle, and he ran a couple of rounds through it (this was 20 years ago though, so details might be hazy). The rifle was put worked on by his grandad, who was a gunsmith, so its possible it was rechambered. It looks like he added some sort of housing above the reciever to mount the scope as well.

Lastly, I don't know much about shotguns. I'm not sure if its missing its choke or if it has a built in choke. Theres no threading inside. If it has a choke does that mean I cant shoot slugs out of it?

Heard you can make a lot of money on OnlyFans selling feet pics. Could always find the project that way…

Socks? He told me he took them to a gunsmith years ago and they said they were not repairable. Based on videos ive watched of wood furniture repair i think thats BS. Do you have any gunsmith recommendations for the SOCAL/LA/Bakersfield area?

These pics are way too small. Need to be bigger.

On the rifle, i don't think the wood stock would be terribly hard to refinish if you were so inclined.

You might want to ask Randall, if he doesn't do this type of work he would likely know who does.

Also you might give this gentleman a call...he does some very nice work with shotguns, knows a lot of people in the shotgun sports and custom stock world....he may well do some stock repair as well. He did some work on my trap gun a while back and did a lovely job.

The Remington 11-48 is a fixed choke. It should say on the left side near the receiver what it is. My guess it’s MOD or FULL. Should be OK to shoot slugs with a MOD. You’re probably better off trying to find a stock on eBay, like I did for my 11-48. Cost me about 100 bucks and bolted and right on. Make sure you have the steel spacer between the stock and the receiver in place. That’s why they crack like that, because someone probably took it out.

Those pics are so zoomed in that I can see the termites (in the stocks, not your feet).
