I have both. I prefer the gov barrel or their pencil barrel. They shoot very well.

I drunk the BCM kool-aid since the mid 2000s. It was BCM or nothing. After researching Aero precision, I was impressed. Ballistics Advantage is their sister company. New 10 gets 10% off ,no tax, and free shipping. Their inventory is ok.
What do you want to do with your gun? Pistol, more carry than shooting, mag dumps or 3-600 yards? Anything more than posing in front of the mirror I'd get a medium tapper. Government profile is obsolete. Both BCM and Ballistics Advantage knows this and offer custom profiles.

I have had BCM, DD, Aero, S&W, and Colt uppers, lowers, barrels, etc. Aero without a doubt builds some really nice parts. Have an Aero 300 Blackout build with a DD barrel, and my latest was an EPC 9mm build with a BA barrel. Both have been flawless.

The AR clone world has evolved beyond the "mil-spec" sales pitch. There are lots of choices out in the non-gov employee world. Better finishes, barrels, stocks, hand guard appliances, sights etc. Research it and then choose.
