    Free primers!

and tips for blasting. All these new reloaders, hopefully one of these didn't blow the their gun. The powder came out at the range with a little shake.

When I pulled the bullets it felt strong. So in conjunction with crimping above the canalure and slamming the round and missing the chamber, it pushed the bullets in.

You need a bullet remover, then adjust your crimp and try again. Good luck

Resize the case or the bullet will just fall through.

Not keeping their cases. I have my own processed same headstamp cases. Decrimped, trimmed and annealed.

You have a plan for getting those primers out?

I was punching out primers back before the shortage. Just carefully de-prime and re-use. Same with the tips, they will just be for blasting, not long distance competitions. Weighed them, they're 62s.

Why do you call bullets "tips"?

Just quarter turn off, I can’t believe they took those to the range.

Do you know what kind of primers those are? Magnum or regular. Are you positive they are not large PISTOL primers.

You're maybe looking at $5 worth of components.

Yea, I mean if zombies are roaming the neighborhood freely I'd salvage those. Otherwise........ just turn them in for scrap.

Primers come out nicely, whether spent or not. With standard boxer uncrimped primers they don't get deformed and look like new.

There is always a possible issue of slight crushing/deforming by the depriming pin, but that's what you would do intentionally when loading for competition revolver and forcing "full primer seating," so not a real concern.

Where you really have to be careful with primers is not the depriming of live ones, but crushing and detonating one at the priming station. One primer going off is not a big deal (might give you a jolt, though), it's the chain reaction of many primers that blows up presses.

Pistol primers in a rifle round would be looking for trouble. Besides the most obvious issue of ignition (how much powder and how uniformly it can ignite), the real problem is the softness of the cups that are not designed for that much pressure.

When loading for Open guns (9mm major, 38 Super Comp), some people use small rifle primers in place of pistol primers to minimize primer flattening due to high pressures. Harder primer in a weaker round works. The other way around is a gamble.
