There is no law yet, only a proposed regulation. IMO it is premature to worry about it, but I also would not go dump a ton of money on fancy stock gear until it is settled.

If I was building an AR pistol right now, I would stick to a simple pistol buffer tube and 1x red dot optic, and await further developments.

Why trade a truly legal, simple and elegant mag lock for a not-likely-legal contraption?

Still haven't seen where they said that or where they issued this rule about the 13.5 LOP. People keep regurgitating what some blogger-type folks have said without the primary source.

                      Oh smily,

do what makes you comfortable. I found the letter on an arf.com thread but am at work, so can't post it now. Like previously stated, it was an opinion letter and not law. Seeing as AR pistols are a somewhat grey area in CA, i did what I was comfortable with and used the LOP limiters from SB tactical that i posted above.

All right then, I'll play, he was the one to complain about the procedure to re-load, so maybe it is not that simple and elegant if he has a LAW folder. To keep it simple and elegant he should get rid of his LAW folder. Furthermore, I have yet to hear anyone arrested for a Maglock.

Look into the Q Honey Badger debacle.

                          Also

An Ohio Marine vet was prosecuted for possessing an unregistered short barrel rifle by the ATF. But the .gov didn't have its legal ducks a row. What a shame.
