It is unfortunate. The shooting community as a whole should be supportive of other disciplines. In addition to being an athlete with USA Shooting as a rifle shooter, I also competed in USPSA (IPSC) and IDPA matches. I've also done CMP and NRA Highpower and a little bit of 3-gun.

I think it would have been cool to see people like Todd Jarrett or Rob Leatham make it to the Olympics.

I'd like to see Hickok shooting gongs at 80 yards, pot smoking and watermelons. Throw some Jerry Miculek doing some speed revolver shooting.

Todd Jarrett did make an attempt, but got tired of the BS.

Most of them knew they can pull it off based on the scores they shot in the 2 days they were there. They also went through more ammo in 10 minutes than the team did in a month.

I don't think they were impress with Burkett. But he was right.

I'm more impressed with practical CCW shooting. Both videos are about BJ Baldwin, a highly successful off-road racing champion, who is also a life-long CCW. Video #1 is produced by the NRA, about a shooting he was involved in. In it are a few videos of him practicing. The dude is quick! Video #2 is an interview on Mike Tyson's podcast where he talks more in-depth about the shooting. Pay attention around the 2:05 mark, where he talks about drawing from concealment. Check out is IG account, lots of training videos there. One Bad***** Mother Trucker....

What if a 12-gauge semi auto shotgun shooter "identifies"
themselves as an Olympic style pistol shooter?

Then imagine any of the above mentioned competitors play team vs team airsoft or paintball.

You can just shoot Olympic Trap or Skeet.
