Just based on the hammer, frame, and trigger guard spur, this is a S&W Russian model.

You can buy a modern version from Cimarron: https://www.cimarron-firearms.com/mo...ian-6-1-2.html

          CNN confirmed: fully semi-automatic AK-47.

It was a challenge form them to identify, because it's missing the shoulder thing that goes up.

Clean the top & sides of the barrel.

It"ll answer most of your questions.

0000 steel wool, #9, elbow grease and a little bit of time.

              Good luck.

There was a member here, I believe, with the Calguns name of Ajax 22 .

He used electrolysis to bring back a Colt 1911 that was in a similar poor condition. You might want to look at all of his videos.

And I would also suggest not using steel wool but using a softer metal like copper wool or brass wool if you do decide to scrub it rather than going with the better way to restore something....electrolysis.

But make sure it's unloaded. There are lots of YouTube videos on that particular gun which is without a doubt in my mind a Smith & Wesson model 3 Russian.
Who knows you might even have one of the very rare ones that were made / copied in Russia at the Tula Arsenal. Then it might be worth some cash even in poor condition.
