    Jelly bean grips

My question is how many cal gunners use aftermarket/ fancy grips/stocks on their pistols, revolvers rifles or shotguns and why ?

The term Jelly bean was common in the 1920s and denoted a guy who dressed sharp, or maybe even overdressed.

One of most famous was an FBI agent, Delf (jelly) Bryce.
It was reported this shooter, drove a flashy Pink Cadillac convertible, wore silk suits and diamond rings, etc.
Once while catching up with a hardened criminal, shot multiple times, who was nearly dead. It was reported this tough guy said " I can't believe I was killed by a
F---ing Jelly Bean" From the book by Mike Conti

Regardless of what we call them, how many like aftermarket grips ? Photos are welcome.

Yes, I love jelly bean grips on handguns. I have spent a small fortune on them because I like to personalize my guns and I am a sucker for wood and stag grips.

And some factory grips just don't work well. And sometimes I am trying to preserve the original grips so I have to find a stand-in.

I do try not to go overboard though. I am not trying to put lipstick on a pig. You asked for photos, I could be here all day posting them but I will try to refrain

      Jelly bean?

I can think of several other words or phrases that would probably better describe his persuasion or preference.

On my revolvers I like aftermarket grips. The wood ones are ok, but a hogue is much more comfortable to shoot. Auto-loading handgun grips are usually fine out of the box. I would only change them if it significantly improved my shooting or the stock grips just really suck.
I dreamed of owning a (insert off roster gun here)...

Oh yeah....then the earth splits open with me on one side and the (off roster gun) on the other. Then appeared a large red-glowing pit with gavin newscum, diane frankenstein and governor "brown the drain" at the bottom of it, waving their pitchforks at me.

I like Cocobolo in general and on my 1911s in particular.

Generally I leave guns stock unless a different stock is a genuine upgrade in function.

Nothing wrong with pretty though, if it does the job. Look at the old skool high end double shotguns.

I gave my Kimber ultra cdp 2 to my boy and it sports thin grips with ambi cut from Esmeralda https://esmeralda.cc/products/ivorywood-iv299676

              These grips aged gracefully too.

Literally eating jelly beans as we speak. Getting mastodon grips when I find a set I like.

I added Marschal grips to my Makarov.

The lanyard ring was in my way (left-handed) and I liked the wider grip.

I only have two guns with custom grips, and my father made both of them:

Thanks SOE, I always wondered about that avatar.

                      Is the picture a relative?

I make my own to fit my hands and change the grip angle to a more 90* style....100% improvement in shoot ability.

I like to put Pachmayr grips on a metal pistol but I found these WWII-era sweetheart grips in a museum the other day.
