Ammo purchase

the gun store probably took the ammo in from a customer in a trade without checking the contents, then put it on the shelf for resale.

Either this ^^^ or somebody screwed with the carton while it was out on the shelf. I would NOT shoot it. No idea about the integrity of the ammo or if it's been reloaded.

I'd also have a nice chat with the owner of the place. If it was messed with on the shelf, that may be one thing. But they need to go through their ammo to see if anything else was messed with. And they need a better system.

Alternatively, if they took ammo back from a customer...well maybe it's just me but I don't want ammo that's been returned. Who knows what the hell the person did with it. And the store clearly didn't do their diligence with regards to checking it. If a store is reselling ammo, that should be disclosed IMO. But again, that may just be me.

Stores usually don't take ammo back. Ask me how I know ?
I always bring my reading glass when buying ammo, now.

if somebody returns something, they shrink wrap it and put it back on the shelf.
i used to climb up and get stuff off the top.
