just found a thread on walther forums talking about this.

so the original poster sent an email to walther asking when there will be more magazines. and this was the response made. so this is an official person at walther answering their emails.

but the kicker is this:

I read the email originators original email before he deleted it on Reddit. In fairness to Marcus, the guy was heavily melodramatic, making statements like...
"now I am $800 into a carry weapon and I cannot confidently field it"
"Bad guys aren't going to wait for you to reload a magazine"
So, while Marcus should have kept his opinions to himself, I now see the email writer was no angel and misrepresented his email in remarks to me when he said he just asked about extra magazines.
I just felt it was important to know both sides of the story.

so it seems the melodramatic gun kyle kinda started the snark, and the CS Rep just pretty much hit back in a way.

but still, who is the Rep to say if you "need" 36 rounds to defend yourself. maybe i do cause i'm facing off against 20 guys as part of a mob. he doesn't know and can't know every self-defense situation that will occur.

Just because somebody wants to buy extra magazines that does not mean he is going to carry every magazine he owns

Read somewhere said he needed more mags for bad guys but who knows.

Thanks for the context Scratch. Sounds like one snarky email was met by another. Still a bad idea for someone representing a company though.
