Do people really avoid a firearm because of what was seen in a TV show/movie?
I do not think so but it does make them more expensive.

People do avoid or have issues with how guns are portrayed in the movies. When Lethal Weapon 4 came out where Jet Li is able to take the slide off of Mel Gibson's Beretta 92 handgun and render the gun useless it affected the views on Beretta. If you look in the 1990's Beretta had a nice chunk of law enforcement using their weapons. The imagine with the 92 and 96 series being able to have the slide removed so easily by a suspect hurt Beretta.

I remember I was a deputy sheriff that carried a Beretta 96 as a duty weapon at that time and we had a lot of discussions about if what Jet Li did was possible in real life and what to do in real life if it occurred.

I believe that a lot of people soured or changed their views on the Beretta 92 / 96 series because of that movie.

It was released in the US for a short time in the early 80s and hasn't seen a domestic home video release since. I saw it ten years ago at the LA County Museum of Art. Here is the opening credits scene. Reloading while making breakfast! What a multitasker!

Not really, but I hope most of us don't run out and buy something BECAUSE they saw it on TV.

I had a serious chubby for the Browning High Power LONG before Serpico got his.

I remember quite a few .44 Automags showing up in the 80's after Sudden Impact came out.

I too have every Survivalist book. Don't have the detonics. But did have the seecamp, and I can twirl a butterfly knife.

I have the detonics and the seecamp but none of the survivalist books. Need to get to amazon and start ordering and reread these classics!

Probably a few people but I find the opposite to be true. I blame Saving Private Ryan for drying up M1 Garands. My wife wants a S&W 629 because of Sledge Hammer...

Sportsman’s Warehouse gets them in occasionally. They go for msrp. But they go fast.

Python probably resurrected because of Walking Dead.
Dirty Harry surged lackluster sales of a foot long 29.

                        Very much influenced by tv.
