Just picked up the new Colt Python!

I'm sure we've talked about it in the past year, but I just wanted to boast. A couple of weeks ago, I took the plunge and put my unused vacation cash from last year towards a 4" I saw at a Glendale gun shop that was somehow able to obtain one. I'm in my late 30s, so I was too young to have purchased an original. Plus my uncle sold all four of his when he needed the money.

I don't care about it being featured in zombie soap opera my ex was into. I've wanted one before I was "into guns": "Police Python 357" (French movie starring Yves Montand), the original PlayStation Resident Evil and the cover of the rare funk record Magnum "Fully Loaded" (search discogs.com).

Despite the heavy trigger pulls and tacky wood, I'm very satisfied. Ive been on target all the time. And no problems as reported with some of first ones.

    Anyone else have one?

I bought 2 but have not shot them I'd like to find a used shooter. I refused to pay the ripoff prices too took me until mid and late 2020 to find them. I also didn't want to do the Turner's waiting list.

I first saw them in person at the 2020 SHOT show. I also could care less about the zombie show. I have an original 6in nickel Python. I want to add a blued one maybe a 2 1/2" but I actually prefer the "French Python" the MR73.

        You've started...

Get it Mag-Na-Ported and Metalifed and you have an excuse for all the other good stuff; although the retreat is gonna make the cost of the Python pale by comparison.

The last 'new' one I saw was listed for $1,995. Given the options for that kind of money, I'm not all that interested. Someday, maybe I could be persuaded... maybe... and I like Colt revolvers.

I Got the 4.25 recently from RifleGear at MSRP $1499. Turners wanted $100 over MSRP. Haven't DROS'ed it yet, in my 1 in 30.

Beautiful gun, can't wait to shoot it.

          Congrats on your pick-up!

I have every paperback from that series. I thought they might be the only set left in the world. Cool to see others know of Dr. John Rourke of the CIA.

I read some of the books as a kid. New 2020 Pythons are available $1500-1600 fairly easily don't get financially sodomized buying one on the CGN marketplace for $2000-2500.

Any way to know if CZ has made any changes or improvements to these newer snake guns- or maybe it's to soon?
I'd be interested if CZ made a version in black or something similar to the blue the old ones are known for. I don't know what they'd have to do to SS to make it look that way but I'm sure it can if there's enough demand.

Going to have to wait on the toys- have you seen what caves in the granite mountains of Georgia that can absorb a direct hit from a nuke are going for these days?

Don't remember that movie. I do remember Yves Montand in "Grand Prix" (with James Garner, if I remember right.)

Do people really avoid a firearm because of what was seen in a TV show/movie?
