    Steel-It coating firearms

Has anybody tried using Steel-It coating on a firearm?

316L Stainless Steel, Polyurethane Coatings, Epoxy Coatings, High Solids Epoxy, Spray Paint, Metal Paint, Anti Rust Coatings, Anti Corrosion Coatings, Food Processing Coatings, Automotive Coatings, Industrial Coatings, Commercial Coatings, Motorsports Coatings, Structural Coatings, DIY, Fabrication, Welding

I've used it on various offroad/suspension parts and it has held up very well and is really easy to apply. I am not sure how it will hold up to heat or solvents but may try coating an old shotgun with it.

Always wanted to try their coatings but I've never seen it on the shelves anywhere.

Any idea how thick it applies?

May need to be careful of tight tolerance interfaces (e.g. slide to frame) if the thickness is excessive?

It goes on fairly thick but dries on really quickly and gets much thinner. I ended up refinishing my 590 with it and I'm very happy with the results, looks better than a gun I had duracoated imo.
