    Buying ammo question...

Okay so this is probably going to be the dumb question of the week but I'm going to ask.

I just got a new driver's license because I had to. It says federal limit apply. Will I be able to purchase ammo with this license? Or is that going to also require a Real ID ? I had to go to DMV two weeks ago for an ambulance endorsement. I got there at 6:00 a.m. when it opened at 7:00. By 7:00 a.m. there were over 50 people in line.

I choose not to go back there unless I have to.

My understanding is that you will need either a "Real ID" or other documentation like a passport or other proof that you're in the US legally...

I could be wrong, someone please correct me if I am. I did not stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night and I am not a lawyer (I don't even have horns).

        This ^^

Either the original birth cert, or an "official" copy. Passport works too, as mentioned.

If you submit the paperwork online, it's a piece of cake, serious. Don't make a separate appointment, DMV website provides a print-out that says "just show up, you'll be treated as if you have an appointment"

I did that, about 15 minutes in the queue outside after the doors opened and a staffer was going down the line asking purpose of visit. Showed the nice lady my "just show up ..." sheet and supporting documents and she gleefully said, "Excellent! Come with me" and we skipped past the eight or so people in line ahead of me. At her computer stationed just inside the door, she rechecked my documents, confirmed they were uploaded, gave me my "now serving ..." ticket and asked me to wait. After a grueling six minutes, my number was called and 15 minutes later I was on my way home. New Real ID showed up about 10 days later.

I got a passport and the passport card. I leave the passport card in my wallet and it meets all my needs.
