    Glock Blue Label for Veterans

I am very thankful that Glock is now allowing Honorably Discharged Veterans to buy 2 Blue Label Guns a year.

Last year, I was able to use my VA HealthCare ID (Service Connected Disability) and Driver License as proof of service at LC Action in San Jose.

I just called them today to order 2 (tried to get 3 since I am also a GSSF member but told only 2), and they told me that Glock now require DD214 as proof of service.

What changed? I prefer not to give out DD214 since it has all my current information. I am awaiting to hear back from Glock to see whether or not they can accept either VAHID, Proof of Service Letter, Benefit letter, Driver License with VETERAN status, etc... instead of DD214 with full information.

Has anyone run into similar situation where a dealer is ok with accepting other documents other than full DD214 or they force you to provide the full DD214 with all your information (easy target for identity theft if misplaced or stolen) in the Bay Area?

I used my DD214 when I bought my blue label Glock19. You can always submit a copy with blacked out SSN and other sensitive info.

I have had to use a copy of my DD214 too in previous years when they allowed one “blue label” purchase for vets between Memorial Day and Veterans Day. It is nice that they are now allowing vets to purchase 2 Glocks a year for vets, all year long. Only a few FFL or gun shops are authorized to give blue label pricing. Unfortunately my two LGS that offer blue label pricing are not offering them until inventories get back to normal even if they have a Glock in stock in their case. I guess the LGS has to eat or absorb part of the discount. 2 years ago, Prior to the Chinese caused, Wuhan Virus, I was able to buy Glock 19 (G3) for $437 and they usually included a third magazine.

By the way, for fellow vets, The California DMV allows you to have “veteran” displayed on your CDL, which makes it easy to prove that you qualify for the discounts that many, many business’ provide without carrying your DD214 around. Unfortunately does not work for Blue Label but it gets you 10% off at Lowe’s, Home Depot, etc, and many (most?) restaurants. That really makes the $551/month I got while going through boot at ar Parris Island, back in 81’ all the more worthwhile. One note, (surprise, surprise, surprise) the DMV does not make it easy. You can not just take your DD214 to the DMV. You have to go get a DMV form, take that to a veterans office with your DD214, get it signed off and then return that form to the DMV. Flash backs of hurry up and wait.

Yeah, I bet the veteran's office sign-off form came out of all the stolen valor dopes who ran out & got the veteran license plates. If you notice they only have "Honoring Veterans" license plates now.

When I saw they are charging for Veteran plates like a personalized one I refuse to pay this state any more than I already do, this should be free. The registration cost is already ridiculous enough.

Who knows what changed at Glock but the website says DD-214. Your dealer should just have to look and verify and complete the glock blue label form for recordskeeping. You can always redact sensitive info if they need to keep a copy.

Take your DD214 Member 1 Copy and redact the social security#.

PSA: The "Veteran" designator on the Ca DrLIC isn't accepted in many businesses for discount purposes and there is no requirement that they do.

You can get a Veteran's ID here and it's not one of those pay for a card no questions asked businesses:

A Veteran ID Card (VIC) is a digital form of photo ID you can use to get discounts offered to Veterans at many restaurants, hotels, stores, and other businesses. Find out if you’re eligible for a Veteran ID Card—and how to apply.

"Am I eligible for a Veteran ID Card?
You may be eligible if you meet both of the requirements listed below.

Both of these must be true. You:

Served on active duty, in the Reserves, or in the National Guard (including the Coast Guard), and
Received an honorable or general discharge (under honorable conditions)
If you received an other than honorable, bad conduct, or dishonorable character of discharge, you’re not eligible for a Veteran ID Card. If you have an uncharacterized or unknown discharge status, we’ll have to verify your eligibility before we approve your application.

You’ll need to provide a copy of your discharge papers when you apply for a VIC to prove your character of discharge."

I get Blue Label as well. Hard to find what you want. They are so popular and sell out fast.

VAHID is for people who qualify for the VA Healthcare. VID is for those that don't qualify for the VA Healthcare. VID is for people that don't have VA Healthcare.

I am service connected and have VAHID but according to LC Action, I must provide the DD214. VAHID is no go

It seems they changed it recently, as when I checked when that Camp Pendleton PX glock deal was posted, service-connected VA ID was accepted(no longer shows on glock webpage).
