Thanks for that. I didn't even realize there was a way to do it online with a credit card.

        Intrafamilial transfer question

I just submitted my first Intrafamilial transfer form, and mailed it off with my $19 check. Will I receive notice that it was received and the firearm is now in my name, and not my fathers? Or just assume I have ownership of it now?

        Thank you

Not a FFL question, so moved.

FAQ - weeks to months for a response, but the transfer has occurred already. It's yours.

It can take a while. When I gave my daughter a Savage side by side 1960's production .410 shotgun, the CA DOJ called her two separate times a couple of weeks apart to verify make, model, and serial number.

She said from the way they acted, they wanted to make sure it was actually in her possession, as they kept asking her to look at stuff that would pretty much physically require her to look at the shotgun to answer their questions. That was just her impression.

Took a couple of months to get a response when I gave my son a 9mm. He got the email. Nothing goes to the parent. He also had to upload his fsc card and birth certificate with CDL since he didnt have the new "Real ID".

After reading this, I didn't realize I could do online with a CC. If I already mailed in the app, should I go ahead and re-do it online with the CC?

Why would you pay CA twice?

(Yes, there can be reasons to do that, but those situations are rare.)

After reading it, it sounds like mailed in apps take a long time to process and internet ones seem to go faster. I listed the one transferred to me on my CCW app so would like that to go as fast as possible

It's now the end of July. Never heard anything from them (didn't expect to) but they finally cashed my check two weeks ago.

The check is still outstanding. You'd think they would have at least deposited the check. I'm a little concerned it got lost in the mail.
I completed the same transfer in early 2020 and it took 6 months. My buddy did his November of 2020 and he still hasnt received anything.

So I guess I was lucky. It just took them a little over two months to cash the check. I'd be worried if I did one last year and nothing has happened yet, like maybe the check got lost in the mail.

Could someone share a link to where we could do this online?
