CFARS is a piece of crap, need help

I was denied an ammo purchase recently because my info wasn't updated in CFARS/AFS (haven't bought retail ammo in at least 5 years). The site would not let me use my gmail account, so I had to set up a new login with a yahoo account. I updated my address in CFARS for a pistol & two rifles, and was notified that all 3 registrations were rejected because "you did not provide correct or enough information; you do not have a record in the AFS; or the firearm you entered does not match what is in AFS." WTF am I supposed to do? If I tried to buy a gun right now would I get rejected for that too?

Not trying to be an enabler, but the easiest way to update your info is to buy another gun. handgun or long gun doesn't matter both are registered now and will automatically update your info.

So the state is forcing me to buy another gun in order for my info to be updated in their system. Off we go then!

Some have submitted the $19 voluntary registration form for a gun they had purchased in CA with a dealer at an older address.

          California is so broken

          What you can do

1- pay for the $19 background check at say Turners.
You then wait 1 hour to 3 days to get approved.

You can then buy ammo from turners ONLY for a $1 background check for a 30 day period.

If you go to another FFL, they can’t find your $19 check done at turners.

It is the most criminal way to sell Ammo to the public.

I know a woman who wanted to learn to shoot and buy a gun.
She has managed to jump through the hoops. The state of California hates women as this is a horrible process to learn as someone who wants to exercise a right
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
          (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

Send ‘em an email describing the problem, include the required information, and they’ll probably input it for you.

It is one of the craziest, glitchiest, circular websites I’ve ever encountered. I finally gave up and did just exactly what I’m suggesting you do, and believe it or not, someone from the DOJ helped me out by entering the information I provided, and just like that the problem was solved.

I have to use two different web browsers to get it to work. For some reason, I can't enter dates using Chrome, then some other thing glitched using Firefox when I tried to start over. I had to fill out the (out of state acquisition of C&R) using Firefox, then pay for it using Chrome.

This state is a joke, our govt can’t do even a simple task correctly. Cfars like everything else is a pathetic waste of taxpayer money.

Time really does not matter unless you have moved and your drivers license has changed.
What matters is matching the EXACT name/address info with your previous gun purchase.

If you purchased your last firearm while you lived on "Oak Street", using "Oak St." now will get a kick back.
                      It needs to match EXACTLY.
Same abbreviations or lack of abbreviations etc...
It's a computer comparing the old and new data, not a person who would see the minor differences in abbreviations or syntax.
