    Expect a .22lr price hike

Two trailer loads of small-caliber ammunition bound for the United States were stolen by armed assailants on a highway in Mexico’s most violent state, Guanajuato, the manufacturer said Friday. A comp...

Well that sucks. With CCI and Federal selling direct to customers with no California sales. This has me wondering if this truck load will have an effect on the curve that's been trending down. After all it's only one truck of many I hope.

Cheapest I've seen it was .09 cpr a few days ago.

I don't know if .22lr will increase. The cartels probably mistakenly hijacked the .22lr as it's almost useless for combat.
Hopefully they'll just turn around and sell it back to Aquila for cash.

Seems to me an armed escort from Mexico and well into the US would be warranted given the tremendous amount of organized crime going on in Mexico. Didn't anyone guess this is a very likely thing to take place?
Or- on the other hand- maybe they didn't pay the protection money to insure the truck makes it into the US safely.

What would Mexican assailants want with .22 ammo? I mean, guns are illegal in Mexico so what would they need them for?
I dreamed of owning a (insert off roster gun here)...

Oh yeah....then the earth splits open with me on one side and the (off roster gun) on the other. Then appeared a large red-glowing pit with gavin newscum, diane frankenstein and governor "brown the drain" at the bottom of it, waving their pitchforks at me.

New & updated news states that the 2 trailers also carried .38 super, .40SW & .45ACP, so the contents were definitely useful for a Cartel.

Also mentioned that it was a 2-truck convoy with additional security vehicles, no idea how the hijack happened or where the drivers/escorts are.

Actually I expect Aguila 22lr to become very available cheap on the street with no back ground checks.

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

Depends on the geographic location of the hijack.

And .22 can be used to teach the Cartel's lil' ones how to shoot.

I just discovered 400 rounds of SuperExtra in the back of my ammo cabinet... guess it'd be similar in ballistic performance (I didn't say accuracy) to MiniMags.

Aguila ammo. Heck, let them keep it.

I've fired a fair amount of it over the years with 0 problems. Not all ammo has to be Eley Tenex.
