Where do you guys store ammo?

As the title states, what type of setup are you guys using?

Garage shelves? Inside the safe? Under the bed? I know a lot of folks use ammo cans, but then where do you put those cans?

I'm looking for an organized way to store ammo..any suggestions welcome. Pics would be great!

Answer really depends upon the volume.

I store in Ammo cans with desicant and then stack them in my ammo/gear closet.

There is another thread with lots of impressive pictures, CHECK HERE...

Ammo cans in a closet that is separate from my guns (except for my HD ammo). The closet stays cool and dry year round.

My daughter's significant other installs kitchen cabinets in homes.
He got a nice set of seconds & installed them in my garage. I put padlock hasps on them and that's where I store almost all of the ammo & accessories.

I have the luxury of a separate reloading room.

It is locked and I don't have minor children anymore.

Ammo is stored either in original boxes, the plastic MTM or J&M ammo boxes and some in faux tupperware bulk plastic boxes. All of it (except for immediate use supply) is in that reloading room on Rigid Rack shelving. It is great stuff - the shelving - and lends itself to a myriad of uses in work rooms.

Speaking of such things, have any of you read the storage regulations in the fire codes for ammo, primers and gunpowder? It's a good thing to do.
