    sacramento CCW

I don't know if anybody heard this on the news, but Sheriff John Mcginness supposedly is considering being more generous with CCWs. What do you guys think? Check out the link for the video from CBS 13.

      Wait a minute...

So Sheriff McGuiness says in this video, "Individual, personal safety is something I have to support."

      Now look at my sigline.

      Where does this doofus stand?
Does he actually believe that we are safer and can be protected from all threats at all times with the current number of Sheriff Deputies on duty?
      That is just proposterous.

It's political. He know the city and county administrators are vehemently anti-gun, so he's trying to scare them to minimize the cuts to his fiefdom. Pure BS.

That was my first conclusion as well. Too bad.

Yep, I think you're onto something there. Dude was on TV a week ago saying that the Sheriff's deputies are pretty much absolved from responding to crimes due to budget cuts. He was more-or-less encouraging criminals to go out and commit crimes. It's all political pressure aimed (pun intended ) at getting what he wants: more money for his corner of government waste.

no matter if this decision is politically motivated, a hostage statement to retain those numbers of deputies facing the ax; if they do offer such with less hassles, why cant we take advantage of this? is this what most of us sought anyway in Sacramento......
