    Mixing your own ballistics jell

I'd like to get some ballistics jell and noticed that they have gone up in price a lot. So, I'm now thinking about following this instruction:

Ballistics gel is used by professional forensics teams to simulate the effects of bullet impact on flesh. Professional grade ballistics gel is expensive and difficult to obtain. By following this guide, you can create your own ballistics...

    What do you think?
If I follow the instructions, it'll only cost $15/gal. I'm wondering if anybody has tried and compared the results with commercial jell (e.g. density, shooting result, etc.).

I would much rather make the "Meat Target".

Although not as scientific, albeit more realistic to me, I find it more interesting.

Why? Everyone else has youtube videos of them shooting every single type of bullet from every caliber and recording them for posterity. It's why I don't need to shoot junk, appliances, fruit...

I use pig meat/bones/old clothes in my testing when I look for new SD ammo.

Gramma's jello mold works for the FiB'rs, but then again my work doesn't involve felony arrests. My standards are my own and I get to bbq any viable left overs.
