Im just curious, if my license is expired but i have renewed it but havnt got my new physical copy in the mail yet how exactly does the DOJ know the license you used is expired if the CDL is the same and the address is still current?

1. Magnetic scan.

2. If magnetic strip on your license is deactivated, and needs to be typed into the Dealer DROS Entry System... on the 4473, dealer [still] has to enter the expiation date on line 20a.

Dealer NOT going to lie for you on that form!

Address? / Come-on now... what do you think 'proof of residence' is all about.

magnetic strip worked, i totally forgot about it and went and did a PPT for a 870 and the dude at turners didnt realize either, didnt even remember until today when i went to ppt a stripped lower

I did that once!

I always READ the dang expiration date before I scan! Well, this time I was too dern busy flappin' my gumbs... and whattayaknow!!! EXPIRED license, and like you, my customer (a friend) didn't know license was expired.

Had to photo-copy license, (don't ask) and figured I finish 4473 after, besides... expiration date on copy, right? RIGHT! - MY BAD! VERY BAD!!!

My fault!

Re-DROSed the gun a month later for customer on MY [25$] dime... my fault, my pay.

Will NEVER do that again!

Well... I caught my error when I went to finish the 4473, line 20a.

I immediately cancelled the DROS, and called my customer.

How is it that your salesman did not catch your expired license on line 20a? (???)

As the kids say these here days... 'whassupwidat?'

not sure, its is turners though so that may have something to do with it

Gotta do it the right way, sleep good at night... I have this thing about looking people in the eye, honesty gives you the ability to look people in the eye and not waiver... I like that.

You would feel better about yourself if you do the right thing.

well its a turners in orange about 30min from me so its not exactly a drive i want to make maybe i can call and see if they can catch it
