RAW lower, damaged rebuild-new?

What does one do if their RAW lower becomes so damaged it's not usable? I know ten years ago one would have to go through the manufacture. They would have to do some special paper work and make a new lower with the same SN# BUT!!! no one would do it.

So now? Can one make a lower themselves in CA and use the same SN#? Or how is this possible?

The original manufacturer can replace your receiver with the same serial number as a remanufacture if they are willing to. There is no Federal or State law that prohibits them from performing such a service.

Bushmaster does? when did you check last?

I think I asked them a very long time ago and they said they didn't.

Bushmaster seems like a good supporting company... I couldn't say the same about Colt. I own both.

I remember reading a post last night on here... someone stated they repaired their mags with PMAGS and as well as replaced their lower, etc..
