    Bad customer service

Another Cal-gunner (SDshooter) and I went to American shooting center in Kerny Mesa to do a PPT today about an hour ago.
A sales guy named Mike H was at the counter and another salesman was ringing somebody up at the register. Mike asked if he could help us with something. I replied yes, we would like to do a private party transfer. Mike proceeded to tell us that PPT are a very low priority and that we would have to wait a few minutes. OK, no problem, I looked around and there were no other customers there. Mike then turned around and went into the office sat in a chair and drank a soda. We waited about 10 minutes. Mike then came out of the office and said that he was to busy to do the transfer. There was no other customers in the sales area and the other sales persons was standing by the register finishing up some paper work. Mike then said that we should just go somewhere else like Turner's.
SDshooter and I just looked at each other and left. We went to Socal gun and completed our PPT.
I have dealt with this guy in the past when he worked at Turner's he did the same things there to. If any of you go to ASC wait for a different sale person. This guy does not care about customer service. He disrespected people at Turner's and is now doing it at ASC.

Had the same experience at that place. I drove down from LA to meet another Calgunner at ASC to do a PPT. Only other business at the counter was one guy re-DROSing because he didn't pick-up within the 20 day period. We waited until he was finished and then were told to go somewhere else. Went to Socal and spent some more money like I always do when I PPT.

Don't put up with that ****. Report them, or it will keep happening to others! It is their legal obligation to provide PPT transfers.

I value good customer service. I live far from Rettings but its a guy there named Randy that really knows how to treat a customer. So I'll go the extra distance just to give them more business. Ade's in Orange COunty has good service as well. Turner's seem to always have at least 1 a-hole at every location.

Did a PPT last Sat. with another CalGunner @ Turner's. Was told it would be about an hour before we would be waited on. Or we could go around the corner to SoCal Guns. WTF?

No more then 5 mins. went by while we were deciding what to do. When the original guy walked back to the gun counter and said he'd help us.

I was impressed to say the least. For the $10 that they made + DROS which isn't theirs that was a lot of work on his part.

            +1

Ade's is awesome for PPT. And turners always has one a-hole working there.

Last time I was at turners, I'm trying to get cleaning patches, and the only "avaliable" employee is sitting at the counter putting new scope mounts on a rifle. And I'm asking him where their patches are, and he wouldn't even bother to look up at me. But, of course, he wasn't too busy to look up and chat with is buddy running the register.

              Poor Customer Service

The American Shooting Center manager is "Mike", formerly at Turner's and yes, he is difficult to deal with about anything. His overwhelming self-importance comes across quite clearly. Not all the employees are like him, I just wonder why he is still there?

Most of go where we feel welcome and comfortable, but some people don't even try to be accommodating to customers. Makes one consider burning some fuel to go elsewhere.

I have never had any problems with Mike at all. Dude has always taken care of me and gone above and beyond to meet my expectations. Im sorry you had a bad experience with him. He just took care of a PPT for me not that long ago.

Is this the older guy that wears a vest and seems to have a nasty look on his face permanently? Hes the big reason I took my money elsewhere when I was shopping for a gun.

I swear, we should start posting these more often.

Here is Stormfeathers 100% tested way to get a PPT to happen no matter what!

                        Walk into the store,
Pick out a ton of expensive items, a couple of $800-$1000 scopes, rings, mounts,
Find the most expensive cases and accessories you can, add them to your basket. NO AMMO
Walk up to the counter, and have the sales clerk start ringing it all up,
Once hes close to finishing, ask him to please add the fee for a PPT onto the total sale.
If he refuses and says he cant help you, shrug at them and say, "well looks like you lost this sale"
                        Walk Out.

If he doesnt refuse to do the PPT,
                        Pay for items,
                        Walk over and PPT,
Promptly walk back to the register and return all said items and get refund.

                        PPT Accomplished.

This is just a joke, but im sure you would only get to do this one time at a particular store, so if you dont like them, then I guess it wont matter anyways huh?

                        Happy PPT Ya'll!

Ive been in there 2 times, once when I first moved to San Diego....the other time I was making my local rounds looking for .30 Carbine ammo.....when I asked, several douchebags behind the counter laughed, more or less at me.....like I am some kind of idiot. Never again.....

The trick to getting prompt ppt service is make sure one of the parties involved has at least two young rowdy(loud) children in tow. Hopefully the father lets these children run around like chickens with their heads cut off. You will be in and out in 20 minutes. Works like a charm everytime.
