Recommendations to sell firearm in CA

    Folks,

I am looking to potentially sell one of my rifles.

I have seen guns.com and gunbroker.com. Are there others?

    I am hesitant about online?

I am in the SF Bay Area.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Thanks in advance.

Post it in the marketplace here for $200+ above MSRP, it should sell quick.
    Good luck.

You've given us too much information to narrow down what your best course of action should be.

Can you provide less information so we can help you.

If you dont want to sell on line for some reason, consign at a local shop.

I figure you have to deal with shipping and insurance and money transfer - I did see some posts about scammers.

I suspect that if I go the consignment route they are going to take a cut or % - not sure what in considered reasonable.

          Thanks.

Sell as an air rifle on Ebay. Those in the know, know.

              Sell it here.

              Fair price will go quick.

You can lose ~30% or more selling by consignment compared to here.
Get a baseline number from consignment offer if you are unsure.

Ask us what a fair price might be if you need help.

FTF at FFL with cash is best.

You might be the first sf bay area person who's reluctant to use the internet.

Put a listing in Marketplace here, with much more details than you've given here, and add "local sales only" There, no problems with shipping or insurance. As for money transfer, cash in hand. No need to make it complicated.

If it's a normalish rifle sell here on the marketplace. As long as your price is reasonable it should sell reasonably quickly. More tactical stuff and lever actions tend to move faster than bolt actions.

If it's something unusual, I'd still try here out of not wanting to deal with shipping. But if it's say a 404 Jeffrey double for instance, it is going to take a special buyer and you probably want the broadest range of options. In that case selling it on GunBroker or similar would probably be your best bet.
