    Piston for your butt stock?

Old Savage 110 that needs a piston installed in the butt stock to tame the recoil.

Who can I send my butt to for a piston install!

    Asking for a friend...... Seriously

They are ANNOYING- but a Brake will tame recoil... a few ounces of mercury in a rifle stock... I'm not sure how much that will help.

Do you have a product already?

Or which one are you considering?

Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Did you pick up one of the original 110's in 425 Express? Honestly, it's not that bad.

Not uncommon with shotguns, Graco will do the service.

I put a mercury recoil suppressor in a Remington 700P in 300 RUM that I have sitting around just see how they work and add a bit of weight to the rifle. It does OK, not great but adequate. I removed the pad, drilled out the stock, put in the mercury rod, topped it off with a bit of resin to hold it in place and put the pad back on. The 700P stock is rather hallow but there was enough material in the comb that I could drill it and make the install. Solid wood stocks are easy, the synthetic ones might be a challenge depending upon how they are constructed.

You don't need muscle to shoot heavier recoiling rifles, you need technique.

I have friends who are under 5'6" tall and weigh less than 150 Lbs. and regularly shoot .450, .470, .500, .577 caliber rifles.

Yes, you do need to get used to the recoil levels and you need to shoot them regularly it to become good with them but most people can handle the .40 plus caliber rifles. Once you get to .50 caliber, that's a whole different animal.

If you have arthritis in your gun shoulder you need all the help you can get. I can't fire anything larger than a .308 Winchester/7.62 NATO. Never tried a recoil reduction device.

You'll find a lot of info and help in the shotgun thread. Many competition guns have them. Quite a common product.
