    Need a 308/762 muzzle device

JP just came through with the last of the moving parts. All that's left is the muzzle device. Is there anything that directs the muzzle blast forward away from the user and anyone else on the line? I have looked at the Noveske Flaming Pig but it weighs a ton and raises back pressure for SBR/ Pistol actions, not good for a 22" rifle action.

Thought about the Battle Comp but it's more of a flash hider than anything else. Brakes are obnoxious in this situation and I'm looking for something a bit quieter.

    Thanks

i think linear comps are allowed. you could just put a thread protector on it if already long enough. some local matches don't allow muzzle devices.

Try searching for a " Linear comp "

      Example: https://www.wingtactical.com/firearm...62-308-300blk/

Most of these LC muzzle fobs are good for keeping other shooters around you happy.

Cool thanks, after a bit of research and watching a couple reviews a went with the Witt Machine Sound Mitigation Equipment, both a brake and a comp, best of both worlds.

          Hi OP,

Thinking of getting the Witt SME, do you have any real life feedback that you can provide?

          Thanks!

                  What class and caliber?

Good brakes are loud. They let the gas slam into them violently
Some redirect to the sides. Some vent back to the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock of the shooter.

Linear comps work but the trade off to blast enhancing is not as much recoil reduction.

For some a better recoil pad is a start.

For other (PRS) add lead. In the same caliber, a 20 pound gun absorbs more energy than a 7 pound gun.

So what platform do you have and what / how are you shooting?
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
                  (thanks to Jeff Cooper)

I think those 6" fake suppressors push it down range enough.
