Yep it seems that will be the first one off the line if this story is right and sometime this year. Very interesting. Guy takes liberty with his opinions but at least the rifle is coming.

A lever company need to make the tube removable like a magazine, allow people to carry tubes of ammo like arrows in a quiver.Comment

The mention of Ruger's expertise in investment casting and MIM technologies will definitely cheapen the rifles. Rulins imo will have interesting weirdness since the walls got repainted.
My opinions on otj training and experience still stand...you won't get that at Ruger.True wealth is time. Time to enjoy life.
Life's journey is not to arrive safely in a well preserved body, but rather to slide in sideways, totally worn out, shouting "holy schit...what a ride"!!

My personal opinion is maintaining the Marlin legend will be a tough act to follow. I have four Marlin lever actions, the oldest is a model 1936 that was originally purchased by my Mom in 1941. My 39A which I bought in 1977 was a bit rough, had to do a lot of work on it to smooth it out. It was a solid platform to do that and the result is one of the best firearms I own now.
My 336 which I bought in 1994 has been terrific right out of the box, didn't need to do a thing to it. It has the stupid cross bolt safety which I hate but I just ignore it. I think there is an accessory I can buy that eliminates it.
My model 1894 in .45 Colt I bought in 2009 is basic and a bit rough but a good shooter. It could use a bit of work but it is okay as it is.
As I mentioned, all of these are solid platforms that benefit from some refinement by owners or competent gunsmiths.
I hope Ruger carries on the tradition. We'll see.

I’ll wait until Richard Mann gives it a comprehensive workout. Also waiting for input from Ed Head, Jim Wilson, and a few others from school. If they all say it's GTG, I’ll buy one.
I’ve got a boatload of .30-30 brass looking to be processed into ammunition; that may be an interesting project.
