    Spouse transfer

Tried looking in oogle and searched here but hard to find this specific instance.

I have exemption for FSC with x25 code (mil retiree)

For paperless transfer between husband&wife, do I still need FSC if my wife wants to transfer one of her firearms to my name?

    That should work.

No FSC needed. Just upload online with the Intrafamiliar Transfer page.

There is a box on the Intrafamiliar where you place the X25 code.

Ok. I will check again later. I swear I saw a box that wanted FSC number with an asterisk (required) but I will submit it with x25 on the box and a copy of the mil ID. Thanks

No need unless she has a reason for it not being in her name.

Spouse to spouse transfer is an operation of law transfer, not an intra-familial transfer.
^The paper form combines the two types of transfers in order to streamline the amount of paper work received by CA DOJ, but online submissions are different forms.

For the honorably retired Mil exemption to the FSC...
... on the paper form, write in "X25" in the FSC box and attach a copy of your Mil documentation showing you are honorably retired.
... on the CFARS/CRIS online submission form, input "999999" in the FSC box and input "X25 Military Honorably Retired exemption to FSC" in the Comments box and upload a picture of your Mil documentation showing you are honorably retired.

Reminder that for the purpose of the FSC exemption, honorably discharged does not mean honorably retired.

"Retired Veterans With 20 Years of Service Veterans ID: Retired veterans who have served honorably for more than 20 years can obtain an ID card on base by submitting a copy of their retirement paperwork and they will be issued a DD form 2 (blue colored) ID card. There are two types of ID cards issued to retirees. A DD Form 2A (Ret-Red) ID card is issued to “Gray Area” retirees (prior to retired pay eligibility), and a DD Form 2 (Ret-Blue) ID card is issued to a retiree who is actively receiving retired pay."
