SoCal: Gunsmith other than Bolsa or Evans?

I want to get my pistol comped with a trigger job. However I can't seem to be able to both get to Bolsa Gunsmithing and work at the same time. That and Bolsa is 8-5pm Mon-Fri Only.

Evans is currently only accepting LEO requests right now too...

So are there any other Gunsmiths in SoCal that are reputable who could do a port and trigger job competently with decent hours for us working people?

(I live in Orange near Evan's...)

I've had good luck with King's gunworks in Glendale for 1911's.

Not sure if Ray at Iron Sights does porting, but I'm pretty sure he does trigger jobs. He may do porting too.

If you don't mind sending out your gun, I would send it to Mag-na-Port.

Alan Tanaka would be a guy to ask. I know he specializes in S&W wheelguns and 1911s too.

Also the gun in question is a HKUSP 40...

I've heard Jim Hoag's name come up before.

I am going to talk to Ade's Sat since its the most convenient (Saturdays I guess...)

                Thanks everyone =)

I know I'm kinda new but this site rocks!

Thumbs up for Alan Tanaka, Jim Hoag and King's. I've had positive experiences with all three. I've also heard good reports on Jojo Vidanes (951) 738-0207 in Norco and Will O'Hara (951) 371-4971 in Corona.

I know you probably don't want to hear this, but since you want work done on your USP, I can only suggest Evans since he is an HK Armorer. I would suggest getting a Match trigger installed, but do you really want the slide cut for ports? Or do you want an extended barrel that is ported?

Contact Bar-sto barrels in 29 Palms or Palm Springs see if they will make you a new barrel longer than what you have and port it then you can have both as far as a trigger job..........
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

I kind of wanted the slide cut to keep the overall length down.

I don't think Evan will give you the time of day unless you're a cop. I've bought a couple of guns there but never had any work done- looks right thru you.

But I ended up going to hkpro and doing the trigger job myself.
