Question about web firearm sales to Ca

I'm new around here, in fact this is my first post. So hello, glad to be here. Thanks to those who are responsible for the site for giving us some common ground to interact.

First off, I apologize if this topic has been discussed to death around here.

I have a question about online sales of firearms to California. I know some sellers will ship no problem to california, but it seems like every auction/for sale site I come across has "will not ship to California" at the end of the description. I know we have some really stupid laws here, but is that why these people are not shipping to us? I only ask because I am interested in older firearms, most of which you never see at the local gun shops. Not too much in the way of selection. Sites like gunbroker and the like are the only place I can ever find anything I am interested in and it seems like everytime I find something I like, there is the old "no shipping to CA"! Currently I am looking for a Savage model 24 COMBO 22LR/20GA. Found a few of them and every single one will not ship to CA. The gun is legal here, unless there is something I don't know about it, so I don't see what the big deal is about shipping.

    Thanks

most are just "lazy" to fill out the paperwork needed when a new law this year was passsed that required anyone selling from out of state to fill out a form with the DOJ...

    kinda sad...

what you can do is the "middleman" vendors here.

they are out of state. have the seller ship to them. they charge you like $30 or so... then this guy will ship to your FFL here in kalif...

You just need to be patient and keep looking. Some dealers will ship here. I just bought a ruger p95 online and had it shipped to my ffl. Got a very good price that way. Mark

This is why. They don't want to deal with it.

The funny thing is, that it's not a big deal for out-of-state FFLs to register. I had a guy from out of state register so I could buy a shotgun that had run through 2 cycles on GB.

There is no paperwork. Out of state dealers just register on the CA DOJ website once and after that all they do is log in, enter a 5 digit number and either write down or print out a code.

Non-dealers are exempt. Those are the people I feel sorry for on gunbroker. They are so afraid of nothing, they won't even do something completely legal.

Some highly ignorant folks won't even sell parts to CA anymore. It's a joke.

I am always looking for Beretta D models in 9mm or a Compact Type M.

Yes, the CFLC imo did more damage to CA gun rights than anything else in recent history because it plays off the paranoia inherent in the typical gun seller. And it seems like nobody who has the wherewithall to go after that law really gives a darn.

Unfortunately the ignorant masses aren't gonna wake up until they are confronted by a total embargo on the sales of firearms and ammo in the peoples' republik of Kommiefornia. No more new guns will be imported even for the police deprtments. Everybody must be stuck with using the weapons which are here already. They'll be SOL when there is no more ammo for them either.

One stupid gun control law at a time rarely even gets mentioned on radio and TV newscasts any more, but one thing leads to another. These stupid bills are an annual event in Sacramento even though our corrupt politicians can't get the budget done on time for 24 consecutive years. An embargo of firearms and ammo sales cannot be ignored for very long! Angry people are gonna wake up, when they see the impact of repeatedly electing anti-gun candidates...

Trickster's post explains this perfectly. The law excludes 03 guns, Curio and Relic. With this FFL you yourself can order these and have them sent to you.
These guns have been in production since 1939. If your serious about older guns this is the way to go. Some sellers don't understand the law or exemption and have been known to change their minds once educated. In California, a curio and relic gun is a gun over 50 years old. There are still some restriction what weapons you can own.
