    Never counted.

But I all way have bought my ammo supplys by the case lot.

about 2000 rounds of .38 fit into a .50cal ammo can.
that can last two or three trips to the range.

I just need more primers right now.

I recently purchased a bolt action .22lr partly for the reason to force me to conserve ammunition!

Also gives you more time to think and follow the fundamentals correct?

When I first got a gun, I'd go to the range to just blast ammo. It starts to get boring after a year because you just get tired of it. At this time I was using about 100 rnds/trip once a month.

Then I get into various competitions, which really burned up a lot of ammo on each practice range trip (especially when I practice for the pistol competitions). I'd say 300rnds/trip is very normal. and I practice once a week.

Things are interesting as long as you are climbing the rankings and win trophies at events. But then I plateau and I can't commit more to the games, so things get boring and slow down. With the practicing stopped, I go to the range once a month again and send down range about 150rnd/trip. Each trip has specific purpose and once the objective is achieved, I do a bit of fun shooting.

        Last range trip:
60 .22LR rnds (zero 2 pistols at 2 ranges and some fun)
15 .45acp rnds (zero at 1 range and some steel fun)
50 #8 20ga shot shells (2 rounds of trap fun)

I even know what my next range trip is going to be like (in July):
100 .22LR rnds (verify zero, practice standing rifle)
        25 20ga #8 shot shell (trap)

On our last outing the .22 took most of the hit but on average this is what it comes down to.
          .223-----100
          Pistol----100
          .22------2000
          ShotGun-100

This is a family of 5 with 4 shooters.

I shoot a lot of .45ACP. Rifles, however, are lucky to get 40 rounds put through them if I take them to the range.

100 rounds of 22lr but thats because i'm trying to conserve till i can get some more ammo. Been working on my off hand rifle technique lately and thats it really.

I ended up spending 4 hours @ Angeles.. Buying the Marlin 795 was the best thing I ever did!

Need to make up from months of no practice....

So I am going to the range twice a week and shooting 100 rounds of .22LR and 100 rounds of 9 mm minimum.

This has helped me with my MNSL scores.

Up to 150 rounds or so. I have a range membership, so if I only feel like shooting a box or two I don't feel as if I'm not getting my moneys worth.

Haha, agreed. I never shoot all of the ammo that I bring to the range. You just never know!

It totally depends on my purpose at the range...

For instance, we went to the range (indoor) just last night. Took a couple of people who had never been shooting before. We had so much fun shooting about 250 rounds of various calibers.

If I'm alone with my revolver, I'll go through much less ammo.

                                haha, 200 is your max?

At LEAST 500, less is not worth getting dressed for.
