    defense ammo

    What's crackin?

Over the years i have collected defense rounds, all 45 auto. (349 rounds)

    Everything from-
    Hornady Zombie max
    Winchester PDX1 defender
    Pow'R Ball +p
    and so on....

I really want to trade it for ball ammo. In today's market, with all the gauging and over pricing... what would be the round ratio i should ask for?
    2 to 1 or more?????????

I am putting this on the general gun thead to get some opinions...???

go see what defense ammo sold (key here is only look at sold listings. the unsold stuff means no one is paying that) for on gun broker or arms list, then what ball ammo is selling for and go from there.

Keep it in case you need it for defense.

What's "gauging" and overpricing? It's a free market. You no like you no buy.

Also a 2 to 1 trade won't be possible as CA law only allows the transfer of 500 rounds per month between non FFL's.

Also how many places even process ammo PPT these days?

          2 for 1 doesn’t seem unreasonable. I’d trade 250 and keep 100. But that’s just me.

Quality brass FMJ has gone up a little and defensive rounds have gone down a little. You might have gotten 2:1, 2-3 months ago, but maybe not now. Another thing is that you seem to have a lot of different types of manufacturers. If you had all 349 rounds in a popular brand, say Fed HST or Speer Gold Dot, you would have more bargaining power I think. Try to post it and see what happens

Most SD ammo is going for $1-2 a round these days.

I would keep everything you have for now. You may need it.

Thanks for the info- Calguns is the best
                  *I understand Capitalism- lol
*I know about the 500 rounds per month, but I just wanted to get some input on what i could trade the ammo for.
*It is a random group of ammo.
*I like the idea of trading 250 and keeping 100!

                  Thanks

Just shoot it up at the range!

I'd bet, you paid less for it then you're goin pay today for FMJ rds of Fed AE, etc..

Just shoot it up at the range!

I had a bunch of HD ammo I traded to a friend for regular fmj at 2 to 1. I thought it was fair on both sides.

I think at this point I’d say sit on it unless someone is willing to trade 3 to 1.
