I haven't been there but I did call them once when the OLL thing started and they treated me like an idiot; which was enough to keep me away from their establishment.

I have heard nice things about it, and I hear they do host one of the few local regularly scheduled Bow shoots in the state. I hear they are a nice decent range, but being where they are located it does attracted some of the less desirable 'gangsta' wannabes as well. The advice I have gotten is if you do go, be aware of the people around you and be safe. Outside of that, I hear it's a very nice place to shoot.

They have a small showroom, some rental guns, and a small indoor shooting range.

I used to shoot there for a shortwhile back when I only shot handguns.

But then the Korean guys that ran the place sold it to someone else and they wouldn't let me use my own targets. Had to buy there's. That, plus the fact it was $12 to shoot, I migrated to Inland Fish and Game, which is obviously a far better range. Plus, now that I shoot mainly rifles, it's the best place locally for me.

But if all you're going to do is go there and test out a shotgun, it's ok for a one time experience. If I recall correctly, it goes out to 40 yards or so.

I used to live no more than two blocks from Inland Fish and Game but didn't own guns until I moved (a city over, so still only 10-15 minutes away). Just curious how you like it? I heard they were having a lot of trouble with people complaining about sound and were temporarily closing to put up a brick wall to deal with new sound ordnances.

Just cuious what your thoughts on the range are.

I pretty much shoot every weekend at IFG unless I'm out of town or at a match. I figure I shoot at the IFG range a mininum of 50 times/days of the year. I know a few of the regular shoot 3-4 times a week (nice to be semi/fully retired).

The lease with the BLM was renewed from what I understand after the club made attempts to address noise issue. The rifle/pistol range closed down last December (2005) for only 4 weeks. It's been running like normal ever since.

Frankly, noise isn't much of a problem. People have made claims that the range is noisy and they are over exagerated. Normal traffic on the surface streets make more noise.

Considering you are close to IFG, I'm surprised you don't use the range more often.

Its one of the oldest shooting places around. Nice folks
and pretty good ranges. Cheap to become a member.
Highland has been chasing them to leave for a long
time since developers started building suburbs there.
I used to go by it when there were still orange groves
and packing houses in Highland. Developers and
the city council have destroyed that just like in
Yucaipa. No one hates develpoers more that I,
but thats a completely different matter altogether.

Go to IF&S and check it out. There are few places
left of the old time Inland Empire where people
minded their own business especially here around
the valley, so the sooner the better. I've been here
on and off since the 60's and recall less intrusive times
fondly when one could just go out to the wash in
Green Spot and do some small shooting..Anyway >

I live in the Mission Grove area of Riverside. It takes me just under 30 min to get to IFG taking surface streets to the 91 then to the 10 to the 30. Of course, I usually go Sat and Sun morning when traffic is light.

I went to magnum maybe a six months back. The guy who runs it is real friendly. They even have a cleaning station where you can clean your guns when your done shooting. He even took my gun completely apart for me and showed me how to detail clean and reassemble. Good place but seems a little run downed.

Man I cant stand that place. I bought a pass for ten range sessions and havent used them and will probably never use them all. The guy who runs it is some super duper marine vietnam vet self general major BSer. I walk in and he is always talking crapola on customers guns. "Oh your XD is junk! we had one here and it broke! they are all junk!" "oh your walther is the QA? thats not a very good pistol".
I took my OLL there and he kept going on and on asking me why I havent made it full auto and kept asking me why I havent put the pistol grip back on. I go on to explain the OLL situation and he looks at me blankly like I never said a word to him and then goes on to tell me that he could make it FA if he had the parts. Nevermind that the internals are different from the one he used in 'nam (i think he is about ten years too young to be in that conflict)

I liked riverside magnum when it was originally owned by that asian guy
