RUGER SR 556

I ve just heard about Ruger finally entering the AR arena with this new cool rifle, the SR 556, if you go to ruger.com you can watch a pretty fine video about it. Please someone correct me if I am wrong, Ruger is not on the list of restricted lowers, since before recently hadn't made one, right? So this could be made to be California legal, right?

Noticed the MSRP @ $1995.00, pretty steep, but the rifle seems to have some pretty nice features.

I am happy to see Ruger finally entering the AR arena, I hope they do well. I have a STAG AR, but I also own a 10/22, Mini 14 & 30, and truly love Ruger's.

Yeah, this came out a couple of weeks ago The ruger website teased about coming out with something new at 1000am and we all waited. some are impressed some are not. i do believe it is piston operated other than that its an ar. kinday pricey..yes Ca legal with proper magazine lock

Yup, it's off-list. Personally I think it's a cool gun. I'd love to see a head-to-head comparison of the Ruger SR-556 vs the coming semi-auto HK 416 variant (the MR 556). I have no reason to think that the HK would be a better rifle, and the Ruger doesn't use a stupid proprietary lower.
