Help me improve my gun range

So the state forced us to fallow a few of hundred acres due to a change in the water regulations a few years ago. So we did what any red blooded American would do, we built a gun range. Currently have a pistol range for 6 side by side with dueling tree, and steel hanging at each station. Rifle range out to 1000 yards with steel hanging at 50 yards then at every hundred yards after. Backstop pushed up with a bulldozer and 2 concrete shooting benches, 1 at 600 yards and one at 1000.

So, what should we add? We have room to go to a mile with major reorganization, 1400 yards is more realistic. Typically we put up a couple of easy-ups and drag a grill out there to make lunches.

Also have a 12v clay thrower, usually use it to practice for dove season.

Seriously, what would you add to your dream gun range?

It’s my dream to have a skeet field.

      Firstly...

Please post some pictures of your range.

      Now...

      1) You can never have too many steel targets...add more...Plate racks are awesome...hostage targets, etc.

      2) A permanent roof of some sort and a grill that stays there so you don't have to keep lugging one out

      3) A target camera of some sort for the long range stuff

      4) +1...a skeet field would be awesome!

Ok, that target camera is pretty cool, been flying a drone down toward the target and using that, always been afraid of damaging the drone from splash so that camera is a great idea. Thanks

A shoot shack would be nice depending on what your weather patterns are.

A shoot house with 360 degree berm surround.

If there are any large elevation changes over a distance, that would be great to learn the long distance effects of shooting downhill or uphill.

Wall facades or a VTAC wall to learn positional shooting.

How’s LE in your area? Game wardens, sheriff, etc. cool with you?

The range that I belong to, has a pistol range with a roof over the firing line.

It's nice because it gets hotter than the doorknobs on the gates of Hell in the summertime here.
                Then said He unto them...
"and he that hath no 1911 designed by my servant John Moses Browning,
let him sell his garment and buy one."
And they said, "Lord, behold, here are two Glocks."
And He said unto them, "Meh, it's a good start."

                Luke 22:36-38 (somewhat paraphrased)

Went shooting with the sheriff a year ago, got to play with their toys and use their ammo. Good group of people. No concerns there. Got the local game wardens cell phone number to help with trespassers during dove season.

Secured access so that nobody but you and your designated guests may enter, or observe, from anywhere else. The ability to do what you want, without the penetrating intrusions of LE, nosy neighbors, or others.
I would consider a policy that requires any guests to deposit all electronic devices into a stationary, secured faraday cage when leaving the public roadway.

Dig pits and hire some Mexicans to pull targets.

I made a stand alone camera with drone parts (~$100) for my long range shooting. Didn't want to spend thousands for a spotting scope. Flying a drone would be good for multiple targets.

How about a tannerite shooting station, cleared off debris and brush. Absolutely nothing but pure tannerite.

A couple pit targets and firing points at 200, 300, 600? Or maybe an electronic target so no one has to be in the pits.

It's behind 2 locked gates, so there is that.
