I got into it with a guy on another forum. He bragged about being the first at the door of Cabela's every morning so he could buy ammo and sell it at a markup. But, he was the good guy, because he was selling 9mm for "only" $35, instead of $45 like most people.
I told him if he and any other "Good guys" just left it there, the rest could buy it for $15.

And no, I don't need ammo.

What I would really like to know is where are people getting the money to frenzy buy ? I keep hearing people are hurting , people lost their job , people are relying on food banks for their next meal , people are suffering , people cant afford to pay their rent and people cant pay their mortgage but yet people have enough money to buy overpriced ammo on the secondary market , buy overpriced firearms , buy overpriced powder and primers , buy big screen TV's , buy a crap load of home improvement materials at Lowe's or Home Depot and buy crap loads of groceries and hygiene products at Costco . It seems to me that people are actually better off financially now than they were before the pandemic or people are not paying their bills because they know that the Government is going to bail out everyone on their mortgages and rent . Either way the money has to run out sometime .

Big 5 had 5.56 150 packs fpr 60 cpr and 7.63 x 39 for 40 cents the other day I left on the shelf Steel shotgun ammo 9 bucks a box. I picked up some 22 lr for 3 bucks for 50 just to have a few boxes in ammo can in vehicle for the kids to plink with. Guns direct has 22lr for 9 bucks for 50 for the affluent shooters.(LOL)

Another funny occurrence was at the gun shop on Thursday. One customer made a joke about "do you have any $500 cases of .223?"
Of course, one year ago, I bet many would have sold every single round of .223, 9mm, .40, .45, etc. for $0.50 each.

Some people's time has absolutely no value, apparently. And some people have very little couth.

The only time I buy ammo for guns I don’t have is when I know a buddy who shoots that caliber. So I buy it. And call them and say hey I found x ammo. Watch out for friends kind of stuff. But to buy and strictly turn around and resell.......no....I have no interest in that.

About the only ammo I sell is my ammo for guns I’ve owned but sold but kept the ammo on the shelf because I didn’t sell it with the gun

I didn't say price control. I said if Feds control AMOUNT purchased per person ala CA. Or worst.

Heck I'm still finding mil-surp calibers selling for Pre-Covid prices out here (.30-06 and .30 carbine being the only exceptions).

7.7 Japanese is still going for $30-40 a box like Pre-2020, 7.5 Swiss and .303 British is still going for $18-20 a box like Pre-2020, and heck I can still manage to find the occasional deal on 7.62x54R, 7x57mm, or 8x57mm.

Only problems I run into is .30-06 and .30 carbine are overpriced and 6.5x52mm Carcano stocks are bare due to the glut of Carcano's that got imported.

As soon as there is a whisper of ammo control, good luck trying to stop the panic.
Its all supply and demand. There is a sudden surge in demand due to virus and unrest. The manufactures need time and $$$ to increase production. Its also a business. They also have to figure if this is real demand worth investing millions of dollars to increase capacity.
The best thing to do is to have patience and it will pass.
Remember the run for toilet paper this time last year?

I've only been selling a little and TRADING for the calibers I need more of. Just traded a little .223 for some 38 special since I got a couple Colt Detective Special's off of Gunbroker last month.

Trading is the way for me right now until things normalize. I won't pay the inflated prices and have a stockpile to last me quite a while.

I think gun and ammo manufacturers are milking this market for all its worth with the idea that the Dems could put them out of business in the coming years. Gun and ammo companies will never have it this good again.

Actually I did buy a few boxes of .45 Colt ammo that was quite reasonable last month.
I bought 45colt dies and caliber conversion for my press well before 2008 when they popped up for a great price.
I knew that I would end up with a 45colt firearm eventually.

                            Last year, I acquired a 45colt revolver.
I was able to get some brass and bullets last year pretty easily before the current rush on components.

While organizing my brass and bullets last week, I found that I had ALREADY bought some 45colt brass and bullets sometime after I got the dies.
Now I have 2 batches of brass and 2 boxes of bullets!
