OC gun show

Hit the OC gun show around 1:30 today...was able to score significant quantities of powder and large pistol primers, but they had run out of small pistol primers...thats OK, I have enough for a few years already. I am glad they didn't have bullets because Berrys sent my order to me I had ordered just 1 short week ago, compared to the two months I waited just back in January, so thats a huge improvement.

I would like to know the exact attendance figures, but to me the aisles seemed much emptier than at the show just three months ago. I saw more AK's. AR's, and other such stuff everywhere, no shortage at this show, they could have armed a battalion.

The vendors seemed to be super well stocked up on Ammo, prices have rolled back a bit, but I did not see the huge swarms at Milwall either.

Maybe its the end of the craze...now that we are all stocked up!!

Could you tell us what some prices were, for example, primers and powder? Did you see any rifle ammo by the case at Miwall; what were they going for?

I went today too and had a great time. Bought some powder, a couple ammo cans, and an extra extrator for my Mosin Nagants. I park over by the swap meet and saved $5 parking.

Powder was $145.00 for eight pounds, primers $34.00 for 1000, loaded ammo was similar to Walmart bulk pricing too...tons and tons of 223, 7.62 x 39, 30-06, and pistol ammo...223 was around $154.00 for 500 rounds, as was 7.62...30-06 was cheap, but not as cheap.

It was nice, so nice I am going back tomorrow as I ran out of time to browse for trimmings...it looked almost like a Vegas show with all the AR's tricked out...It really should be called the Orange County AR and trimmings show...

Rifle Gear was there, and so were some other local vendors

No fully auto 50bmg's mounted on a jeep however, so its still somewhat of a cultural backwater gun show wise due to the maniacs in SAC...

The prices at Miwalls seemed lower than online retailers I've seen.

I picked up 1,000 rounds of PMC .40 S&W for $329. Their reloads were cheaper than through their online broker too.

Did you happen to notice how much they wanted for their reloads, specifically, 45 ACP and 223?

That is up 15% from their last Glendale show. Too bad. I had heard that they had caught the "hoarding" fever and had hoped it was hype.

9mm was $275.95 for 1K for reloads. Wolf 9mm was $289.95, and PMC was (I believe) $329.95 per K.

I picked up 450 rounds of Indian .308 for $180, so I was stoked!

I was at the show and got there about 8:15 AM. I had purchased my ticket online so I was ahead in the line to get in. Had about 100 people in front of me.

Anyway, I didn't shop for ammo but but glanced at some prices. I actually thought prices were a little higher - for example a case of PMC .223 was $429 and I remember buying for $400 around February.

I spent half of my day in line at the primer/powder tent.

It was VERY busy in the morning but when I left around 2:30 or so it had thinned out a LOT.

There this weekend on both days.
Had a great time as always. Got everything I needed until the next one show up. So now I'm broke.

Met some interesting people, listened to the WISE, older gentlemen that have stories for days( this is my favorite). Also met some Calgunners there.

The turnout amazes me. Every time it gets better.

With Calguns there its way more worth it.

My dad had a table set up this weekend selling some WWII rifles, lugers ect ect..

Today a few tables back from us (in the main building) a guy had TONS of CA compliant AR-15 rifles, and someone stole one from him, He didnt even know when it was stolen, he just noticed a random spot missing.

Sucks, he probably lost any profit for the whole weekend with the loss of that rifle stolen.

Hit the show again today as my daughter rebeled yesterday...lots of ammo still in all booths..Milwall was not mobbed, but they did run out of Bullseye, Unique, 231, and most primers.

Lots of AR's there, and even a few saga 12's...tempting too at $799.00 with BB.
