Probably been asked before, but what is the law on a private party ammo transfer/sale? Has to go through a FFl for DROS on buyer? Have some excess 22LR, but wondering if it would be worth the hassle.

While in CA...
Transfers to non-exempt person must be done through a CA licensed ammunition vendor or CA FFL dealer. [PC 30312(a),(b)]
In order to legally transfer more than 500 rounds within 30 days, that person must be a CA licensed ammunition vendor or CA FFL dealer. [PC 30342(a)]sigpic

500 rounds per 30 days so it it worth it to meet buyer at ffl for 22sComment

What about selling out of state or trading?Comment

Honestly .22lr is the one kind of ammo that REALLY gets killed by this dumb *** law. It's so inexpensive anyway that to try and sell 500 rds and have to pay a fee on top isn't worth it."Common sense is self defense"Comment

Isn't that crazy? You have to take rounds OUT of the brick to sell it, Hahaha! Imagine trying to move one of those bucket O' bullets? 3000 rounds of 22 would take 6 months to sell it all.
