This site here is different because he does not sell grips. He engraves your grips you already have. So you could send in a 1911 wood grip or lever gun buttstock for instance. It will fit the same as it did before, don't have to try and make it fit. If you create a design for him, use a .png file because if you make the background transparent, it will stay that way, whereas a .jpg file loses transparency when you save it.
Using Gimp, you make your design and then make the background transparent like this:
click: Layer/Transparency/Add Alpha Channel...
Select by Color Tool (icon on the toolbox)..point at the white background.
click: Edit/Clear.
click: Select/None.
then save it as a .png file.
