Is the Colt LE6920 trigger any good?

I know people love a Colt police rifle. What is the trigger like? Is it any good or is it just a pain mil spec trigger?

If you had a binary trigger like a Fostech or Franklin Armory drop in, would you replace it?

    Colt trigger is just ok.
I would change it if it was me.

The milspec triggers are pretty much hit or miss on all brands. I've had no-name triggers that felt surprisingly short and crisp; others that were very gritty.

MBT-2S as mentioned above is one of the best triggers for the money; I'd say it's comparable to Geissele options that cost 2-3x as much in crispness and reset.

Would any of you replace it with a FRT-15 trigger? I'll check into the LaRue trigger option.

Apparently I'm the only person that read that part of your OP, lol.

Unlikely to find anyone in this forum that knows anything about them unless maybe you explicitly put "binary trigger" in the subject and hope a non-kali reads it. You might have to go to, ackk, arfcom.

Thanks for catching that. Well I really wanted to know if the Colt trigger was worth keeping. I was thinking of a binary but they seem gimmicky. I didn't know those were banned in CA.

Gimmicky? If you ever needed to room clear you're going to need all the speed you can get operator! If I lived somewhere else I'd save up for an RDIAS.

                      400 bucks for a binary, 20,000+ for a sear.

The nice thing about triggers is you can change them back and forth as many times as you want.

I'm sure there are plenty of youtube videos of people shooting them. I've seen the MAC guy shooting them fairly often. Personally, I think they would be more fun on a pcc.

Colt trigger should be upgraded. A cheaper one is ALG Defense ACT trigger. These are better than Milspec. I have a Geissele on my AR.

It is like any other mil spec trigger.
If you do not want to spend extra for after market triggers, there are plenty of YouTube videos showing how to smooth out triggers.

The trigger that came out of mine is still good, for what it is. Maybe 50 rounds on it, before the upgrade. You can smooth out the stock trigger some, but it will never be as good as spending $ for a quality trigger.
